Privacy policy

Summit Jeep Parts is an Australian online retailer of Jeep and 4x4 parts. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, enquire or order, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

Last updated: August 2026

Who we are

Summit Jeep Parts trades online at summitjeepparts.com and operates from 1 Argyle Place, Millers Point NSW 2000, Australia. We supply genuine and aftermarket parts to Jeep, Ford Bronco and Toyota Tacoma owners, workshops and 4x4 outfitters across Australia. We are the entity responsible for the personal information handled through this website.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles and general Australian privacy expectations for online retail. If you have a privacy question at any point, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

What personal information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote, supply and support the parts you order:

  • Your name, and business or workshop name where you supply one.
  • Email address and phone number, so we can confirm fitment, shipping and order status.
  • Billing address and delivery address, including postcode, which we use to deliver goods.
  • Order details — parts, part numbers, quantities, order reference, payment method selected and order notes.
  • Vehicle details you provide for fitment support, such as model, platform, build year, body style, engine or drivetrain, and any modifications already fitted.
  • Enquiry messages, including anything you write in an enquiry or order note, and our correspondence with you.
  • Technical, browsing and analytics data — pages viewed, search terms used on our catalogue, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your connection, and cookie identifiers.

We do not seek sensitive information (such as health or government identifiers) and ask that you do not send it to us. Please only include vehicle and contact details in enquiries.

How we use your information

  • Processing orders — accepting, picking, packing, invoicing and confirming your order.
  • Customer service — answering questions, following up backorders, resolving order issues.
  • Fitment assistance — checking the parts you are considering against the vehicle details you supply.
  • Shipping coordination — booking delivery and arranging oversized road freight to your address.
  • Returns, warranty and damage claims — assessing and progressing a claim you raise with us.
  • Fraud prevention and verification — confirming that an order and payment are genuine before dispatch.
  • Site improvement and analytics — understanding which parts, vehicles and searches people use so we can improve the catalogue, navigation and fitment data.
  • Marketing communications — only where you have asked to hear from us, or where it is directly related to a purchase you have made and you have not opted out.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for unrelated third-party marketing.

Payment information

Payment details are handled by the payment method you select at checkout. Where you choose card payment, the card data is entered and processed through the secure payment facility used for your order — full card numbers are not stored on this website and are not visible to our staff. Where you choose bank transfer, we record only the order reference and the fact that payment has been received against it.

We keep transaction records (order reference, amount, payment method and status) because we need them for order fulfilment, returns, warranty claims and tax record-keeping. See payment methods and GST & tax invoices.

Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies and similar browser storage to keep your cart and selected vehicle between pages, remember your search and browse preferences, keep the site secure, and measure aggregate usage so we can improve performance and fitment navigation.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, your cart, saved vehicle and some catalogue filters may not persist as you move between pages. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not used to make decisions about you individually.

Email and marketing communications

Transactional emails — order confirmations, enquiry acknowledgements, dispatch and tracking notices, dispatch and returns correspondence — are part of supplying your order and are sent for as long as the order is active.

Any marketing or product-update email is separate. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email, or by emailing orders@summitjeepparts.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. Opting out of marketing does not stop the emails we need to send about an order you have placed.

Who we share information with

We disclose personal information only where it is needed to run the store, and only to the extent required:

  • Payment processing — the payment facility used to take and verify payment for your order.
  • Delivery and freight providers — the carrier handling your parcel or oversized freight consignment receives your name, delivery address and contact number so they can deliver and contact you about delivery.
  • Manufacturers and freight partners — where a part ships direct, or where a warranty claim must be assessed by the manufacturer, we pass on the details needed for that specific purpose.
  • Website, email and analytics tools — the hosting, database, transactional email and analytics services that run this site process data on our behalf under their terms.
  • Professional advisers, insurers or authorities — where disclosure is required or authorised by Australian law, or is needed to investigate suspected fraud.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia. Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate security and confidentiality obligations.

How we store and protect information

Customer, order and enquiry records are held in access-controlled systems. Order and enquiry records on our platform are restricted so they cannot be read from the public website — only our trusted server-side order handling can access them. Data in transit to and from this site is encrypted, and staff access is limited to the people who need it to process orders and support.

We keep order, invoice and warranty records for as long as we need them to support the purchase and meet Australian record-keeping obligations, and then delete or de-identify them. Enquiry records that do not lead to an order are kept only as long as they are useful for fitment follow-up. No online system is completely secure, so please contact us immediately if you believe your account information or order details have been misused.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep. Email or call us with your order reference (if you have one) and we will verify your identity before acting on the request.

We aim to respond to privacy requests promptly. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, tell us first so we can try to resolve it. If it remains unresolved, you can escalate the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy as our catalogue, systems and providers change, and publish any updated version on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes to how we handle personal information will be reflected here before they take effect, so it is worth re-reading this page before placing a large or freight-quoted order.
